coueschaser3 Report post Posted April 3, 2008 haha you just absolutely have to have something to argue about. I never ever said a 338-378 was to big, heck it would be a heck of an elk whopper! I said it wouldnt be ideal for elephant and rhino yes, there is just no need for a rifle with that range capability on a hunt that is very close quarters. If i had the money, for a long range elk/moose/very large bear the 338-378 would be one of my top choices for your information.... go ahead and read my last post a weee bit closer. curmudgen Report post Posted April 14, 2008 One thing I've noticed since joining this group is that nothing gets things goin like a discussion of what cartridge is best. Ole .270 has it about right.
