bowsniper Report post Posted March 27, 2008 I could use a suggestion for a broadhead. I’m looking for a fixed, 100gr, with a cutting diameter of 1.5” or better. The largest diameter I’ve been able to find is 1.25”. It’s for my 12 year son (Kidbowhunter on the forum). He is planning using his bow to fill his turkey tag. He has a junior tag in 6a. We’ll probably be in a blind behind mesh, so we’ll need fixed. His bow is only shooting 160 fps, so I’m not too concerned about planing with the large cut diameter. Thanks for your suggestions! azcouesandelk Report post Posted March 27, 2008 I have heard good things about the new American Broadhead Turkey Terror. http://www.americanbroadhead.com/turkey_heads.shtml They claim with the new design that it sticks in the bird and you do not need to worry about fly away birds. I wonder how well they do if you hit too low, or in the chest? Ive seen them used. I wouldn't use them, but they met the criteria. I would think they wouldnt be too good for body shots. azhuntnut Report post Posted April 5, 2008 I have had very good results with the Magnus Stinger broadheads. They do not need alot of kinetic energy to penetrate animals. Plus they are very stong and carry a lifetime warranty if you do manage to break one. Click on the website in my signature. David Blew right through this wiring with no problem. There are many on the market and your son difinitely needs to shot some to see which ones will fly true out of his bow since each shoots different. Don't worry about shooting thru the netting and just put on camo and stay dark and you won't have any problem. I hunt out of the double bull blind and don't have a problem with turkeys seeing me in my blind. I have shot my last three turkeys with archery and expanded blades are the way to go.
