Ron G. Report post Posted March 26, 2008 Doesn't look like the Beeline will be open anytime soon from those pictures! I've always seen wet spots on the pavement there and wondered if there was a spring underneath the highway there.
Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted March 26, 2008 Doesn't look like the Beeline will be open anytime soon from those pictures! I've always seen wet spots on the pavement there and wondered if there was a spring underneath the highway there. I thought the same thing. It has not been right in that spot from day one! They have replaced some of the pavement, but IMO were just prolonging the inevitable... Isn't there someone out there that gets paid big $$$ to make sure these kinds of problems don't happen on new highway projects before they start??? Oh well.... it will be nice while it lasts! With Bill Luke Bass Days (at Pleasant) and Hwy 87 being shut down... Rosie should be a ball this weekend!!! I'm Goin' on Sunday for sure!!! CnS
coues7 Report post Posted March 26, 2008 Here are some helicopter photos of the damage......from an engineering perspective it's gonna be a while. The extent of the damage is HUGE! The deepest portion of the failure extends approximately 380 feet to the west of the west edge of SB 87, and extends approximately 700 feet.
Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted March 26, 2008 Heard just a while ago that Hwy 87 is gunna be closed for the forseeable future.... No idea what that means but it ain't gonna be this week for sure.... I'll bet. Dang!
DesertBull Report post Posted March 26, 2008 That sucks. Gas is too much $$$ to drive all the way to Globe and back to Jake's corner, then do it again on the way back. I think I will wait until midnight and turn my lights off and drive the Beeline. Think they will catch me?
