CouesWhitetail Report post Posted March 26, 2008 Hi All, Went out with our church for a picnic on Easter and saw lots of wild flowers on the south side of the pinals. We stayed overnight at the ranch of a friend and then in the morning took a trip with them to look at some petroglyphs and wild flowers. Wow, what an amazing site! Pictures don't do the flowers justice. It was absolutely stunning! here is a rather weak attempt at capturing a panorama of the amazing amount of flowers on miles of ridges. And here are some closeups: The ranch owner bought this swiss army vehicle for the ranch and we were able to use it to get up to an area with petroglyphs and flowers. Neat ride! This thing is built to go anywhere! And here are some of the petroglyphs: There were some deep pools in the creek below the petroglyphs and the dogs went swimming. And finally, as we were hiking up to the petroglyphs we spooked a couple whitetail. These aren't great pics, but you might be able to play the find the deer game with them. This a bit of a hard one and the photo has two deer in it: One deer in this pic: And this one should be the easiest. There is one leaping WT in this pic. firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted March 26, 2008 Amanda, love that last picture of the deer leaping! My dogs would go insane in that water. it is impossible to get my lab out of the water (kind of why she has yet to go to the lake with us) and my mut ends up warming up to it and then we cant get him out of it! Those are awesome pictures!
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted March 26, 2008 Yeah, my dogs loved it. The only problem was that the canyon is really steep with that super smooth rock and once they were wet, they kept sliding down the rock. Hard to keep them from getting hurt. Julie wiped out more than once (in fact that photo of her in the water is when she fell down off some rock and into the water. That's why the water is splashing around her) and my poor old Molly got stuck in a tight spot and I had to yank her out by her collar. But still they loved it! I was thrilled I got the leaping deer in the pic. The sun was so bright I could hardly see my LCD panel to shot the right spot! Amanda
az4life Report post Posted March 26, 2008 Great Pictures Amanda. The 2nd pic was pretty easy to spot the deer too, but I think I need some new specs to see them in the first one.

daryl_s Report post Posted March 26, 2008 Cool pictures. The pics are reduced quite a bit, if you click on them then you can find the deer a lot easier. CB1, those are way cool pics. A few of them are very similar to some I have seen in 36B. If you find out any of the meanings please let us know.
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted March 27, 2008 Hint for finding the deer in the first pic.....both are flagging! And as has been mentioned, open the pic up to a larger image by clicking on it to make it easier to search. Amanda
