Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted March 1, 2008 I have been reading about this Sitka line of clothing and like what I read..... but, I am choking on the price! As a guy that sweats a lot I always look for fast drying and odor control and this stuff boasts all that and then some. I would like to know if any one has used it and how you like it???? Do you have the whole line or just individual pieces? Thanks, CnS

firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted March 1, 2008 Remeber what Tony (outdoor writer) said about odor control not to long ago? What about the law suit against Scent lok? IN MY OPNION, scent control clothing isnt worth the money! Take that money and by some quality hunting bullets!

I am more interested in how it dries..... how it wears/ stretches when you move, etc. I never have bought into that "sent free" BS.... Unless you hunt within a Ziplock bak you are NOT sent free!!! LOL! I can't breath!!!

coueswt Report post Posted March 1, 2008 I have the vest and a couple different shirts and really like how they dry fast. I also like their patern and i believe they will be offering them in MAX-1 this year. I might try a pair of their lightest pants this year but it still might be a little to heavy/warm for my liking. Jason Yeah, I like their camo and like the Max-1 even better. Do you feel that the cost of this clothing is worth it? It sounds like great stuff but Very pricey!! I almost never wear cotton clothing when hunting anymore (except Carharts), because of the slow drying.... learned about that hunting in AK and NWT.... where cotton Never drys!!! The Sitka stuff is something I'd like to try but am restling with the cost to value.......
Arrowslinger Report post Posted March 3, 2008 I used Sitka gear on 3 backcountry hunts this past year; a 3 day deer hunt, 5 day bear hunt, and a 10 day elk/muley hunt. The clothing dried extremely quick and peformed great! but you're right, it's a tad pricey, but in my opinion, it's worth it! As of January at the ATA show, Sitka was not offering their line in Max1....all my peices are in Mtn Mimicry, great pattern, but like you, i prefer Max1 for the early season. Buy a couple peices and see how you like it.
