tjhunt2 Report post Posted March 5, 2008 There is supposed to be no decision on an interpretation of the rules, the rules are the rules. If there is a question then the measurer should contact P&Y on a clarification. And if you don't plan on entering an animal please don't waste the measurer's time. It does take time to measure an animal and we are not compensated. I pesonally will not perform any measureing unless the hunter has full intent on submiting an application to the particular club and I do that for them. Please don't waste the measurer's time.................we are not compensated...............I personally will not perform any measureing unless the hunter has full intent on submitting an application............ WELL EXCUUUUUUUSE ME! Arizona Griz.......How MIGHTY you must be! When you took on the job of a measurer I'm sure you knew you weren't going to get compensated and you wouldn't measure a buck for someone just for the heck of it? Arizona Griz Report post Posted March 5, 2008 It is quite obvious that you both missed the point. I am not trying to make any enemys here since that was not the intention. So let me explain it a lttle better. All I am saying is that is does take some time to accurately measure an animal especially when working with a 400" elk. If the hunter has no intention of having the animal submitted to a particular record book program then why have it measured at all. They surely can measure it themselves and live with that score. I personally take the time to review the application with the hunter so as to not have any errors and even mail in the application for them. I fully support the creditable record book programs that are out there and they are only as good as the animal information supplied back to them. BTW, I never said that it was a compensated position or even suggested as such.

I believe your intentions were not to make enemies, as you stated, and I personally didn't take it that way. Just stating my opinion towards your comments. TJ I agree about the new and improved explanation, and I never thought you were trying to make enemies.
