Daytime Visit By Mr. Bob

Recommended Posts

One of you guys ought to go do some calling in my son's backyard. This was one of his visitor's a couple days ago.

He lives at Tatum and Dynamite and has a wash that runs behind his house. There's a resident Gambel's quail population, and he often has javelina come by, as well. This is about the third bobcat to visit over the last few years. -TONY

He took them through the kitchen window. This from his e-mail.

I can see that it is time to clean the windows in my house. The pictures are not great as I was trying to hurry before the cat ran off. I did not know that it had already lost it's fear of humans.

Here's one as it began to leave. -TONY

My folks live near Tatum and Dixieleta. They see yotes, javelina, and the occaisional bobcat also. They have seen a rattler take some baby rabbits from a hutch in hte backyard. When there, Rica usually gets to hunt the numerous Gambels in the neighborhood and in the wash behind the house.

Sounds like your folks live quite close to Keith. His house in red, and the blue is the wash behind him. He's had one rattler make its way into the yard -- well, one that he knew about. -TONY

We're not far away from there... Although not as good a picture, this is from a few years ago. My wife ran for the camera while I was running for my bow. My poor kids thought we were running because we were scared of the cat! It takes a lot of nerve to steal my pool water while I'm trying to eat my dinner!

My son doesn't have a pool, but his neighbor does. A couple years back, one of the bobcats regularly used the pool for his daily drinks and often slept in a big, empty earthenware pot that sat atop the neighbor's wall. -TONY
