Turns out the kid is a natural! Drilled his first dove with his first shot! Could not believe it. First 3 shots were 2 out of 3 which ain't too shabby for a kid that never hunted anything ever!  In fact I think he did better than I did.  Great big thanks to Bigbrowns for the invite and the use of his shotguns.  When we pulled up to the farm doves were flying everywhere it was crazy!  It was also my first dove hunt and lets just agree that i suck but i still had a blast. Here are some pics...

Back to work the next morning. It took a good while to clean up all the evidence!

Another big thanks to Adam for the invite, pointers and birds. And to Wildwoody and Goldfinger78 for donating their birds to the Swavely family cause! It helped take the sting out of a hotel for 2 nights and a 6 hour round trip with slightly less then adequate A.C..  you guys are awesome!

That was a REALLY fun day! Your son did a great job! The best part of the day was driving home knowing I didn't have to clean any birds:)

Glad you guys were able to come up and have a great hunt.  Caliche did a great job and is a natural. Love those pictures from the hotel!!! Hope you get to enjoy some of those delicious dove popper/bites soon!!!

First time eating it. Was ok,  not fantastic but still pretty good. Tried 3 different ways and preferred the bacon, cream cheese combo the most. Seasoned some taters and asparagus. Momma made some canoli bites. Good family night. Lots of laughs at the table.

Yeah, momma was the pickiest.   They were all marinated in Italian dressing. Did some with the A1 sauce and mozzarella, and some without the sauce. Then did some with cream cheese.  I like the cream cheese the most.
