stanley Report post Posted September 11, 2018 I was on an early morning conference call with my team based in NYC. Our company headquarters is in the World Financial Center, right across the street from the Trade Center. My project manager on site there suddenly cut me off and said 'something just exploded across the street and he would call me right back.....' It wasn't until several hours later that he got back to me. Heavy stuff..... 3

stanley Report post Posted September 11, 2018 Another thing that I remember about that event, was that I had scheduled a Kiabab archery deer hunt (when it was OTC....). We went two days after, and I recall the 'no fly' order was still in effect. With no jets flying in the distance and/or overhead throughout the day and night, t was the quietest I have ever experienced in the outdoors. Possibly it was the somber mood that contributed to the perception of the peace and quiet, but I definitely remember NO planes.

Ringer Report post Posted September 11, 2018 Packing for my archery elk hunt in 5BN and went up the next day. I remember how eerily quiet the sky was with no planes flying other than a few military jets.
biglakejake Report post Posted September 11, 2018 i was finishing up the graveyard shift locked in the cashiers' cage at hon-dah casino. they would not let us out until end of shift at 10am so i heard little reports from the floor. 'a plane hit a building in ny' and 'a little airplane crashed into an army office'. i had been killing time writing a poem about fire and sunsets before the reports came in and i wadded it up and threw it away. went back and dug it out of the trash before i left and watched replays of the towers falling. what i remember most was having a hard time believing i was really seeing cars in line at mcdonalds and that blue ridge high school was in session. just dazed. lee
LifeFeedsOnLife Report post Posted September 11, 2018 I was in 8th grade. My mom woke me up and told me what happened. I sat and watched it for about an hour before school. I just remember how apocalyptic it felt watching people running through clouds of dust and paperwork floating everywhere.
