Swaroviski 15x56 and minox 15x58 BR

Recommended Posts

I have a pair of duovids and I love them. I like being able to switch power from 15 to 10 for field of view. The real thing that made my decision was the eye cups fit my head better and I can glass while wearing my glasses better with them. It came down to fit for me. My brother has my minox 15's. he likes them too. As for the adapter I have the outdoorsmans and it works great. I personally think swaro leica is a ford chevy arguement.

I had the Minox and I thought that the glass was very good. In side by side comparisons with the swaros, the swaros were indeed better, but not by much. After testing them side by side, I bought the Minox figuring that they were good enough.

I still believe that the glass of the Minox is "good enough", but after spending 5 days looking through them on my Oct. hunt, I found that the eyecups were too boxy and uncomfortable to glass thru for long periods of time. I borrowed a pair of swaros on the last day of the hunt and was amazed at how much more comfortable they were to glass with for extended periods of time. I ended up selling the Minox on the classifieds here and bought a pair of Swaro's off of Ebay that I still can't really afford right now, hence the reason they are listed on the classifieds. I've also looked thru Casey's Leica's and they were very nice as well.

hope this helps,

Schmitty

Hi There

I am very thankfull to all of the information got here from you all, I am thinking that really would be a smart decision to save my money at this moment to a future Swaro or Leica purchase, when I have the money so there I will be a final decision.

thank you all very much Pedro

PS:- Only as a comment, my native tongue is the Portuguese language, but I understand also the Spanish because they are a bit similar.

"I personally think swaro leica is a ford chevy arguement."

If you want to start that argument, you are leaving out Toyota and Nissan :P

Pedro,

That is a great decision. You will be glad you waited and saved with either the Swarovski or the Leicas - both are very good.

Hi

Just as curiosity since you own a Duovid and I never found no one real comments of some one using a Douvid 10-15X or even the Swaro 15x56 regarding the sharpness/crispness (forgiven the low light factor here) level when compared with the Zeiss 15x60BGAT*...Have you or someone else tried?

regards Pedro

Pedro,

I had the Minox once and have compared them sidexside with the Zeiss and Docters. Found the three about equal regarding resolution, imo.

Any one used BRUNTON binos? A friend of mine says that for the money they are darn good. He has swaros, and he say the only difference is during low light. Other than that he said they were comparable to swaros. Never used brunton but i thought i'd throw that out there.

About the 15x56's SLC NEU

How to identify the real new model with the swarobright? It's just checking if the logo is there on it box?

The ''deeper thumb grooves'' at their down side it's also only present in these same new model only?

regards Pedro
