IH actually blueprinted these engines before they left the factory and they have timing gears and not timing chains. IIRC the only other production engines to leave the factory with gears were the 327/375HP and the 396/425HP engines. The transmission is the Mopar 727 torqueflight and Dana 44's front and rear. The trouble is I'm very nervous about Craigslist for a number of reasons, but I might find the courage somehow.
