Tight Guy Report post Posted August 3, 2018 Greetings, A friend of mine is thinking of putting in for a cow Elk tag on the White Mountain Apache Reservation for this fall. I looking for info as to if anyone has done this hunt and can advise us as to what to expect.. Is it a real fair chase on your own hunt? Do you have to hire a Apache guide? Any info would be appreciated
GreyGhost85 Report post Posted August 3, 2018 http://outdoor8.wixsite.com/new-hunting-page/self-guided-hunts It is a real hunt and looks to be self guided. Their website isn't too bad anymore. should have all the info you need. https://wmatoutdoor.org
Coues79 Report post Posted August 4, 2018 Depends on moisture. If there's snow the roads can be bad. I hunted it several years ago. We were fortunate to take a cow prior to a big storm system moving in. They reduced tag numbers this year so itll be a tough draw. Been getting more and more difficult to draw without the decrease in tag numbers. Yes its self guided.
