AZkiller Report post Posted July 26, 2018 Funds are tight right now. I just had to pay for some medical bills. I will have to do what I can on my own for now. Its been awhile since I serviced the Trans. This weekend I am going to pull the pan, and flush the trans, and new fluid and filter. Plus it will be a little cooler on Saturday, which means less sweat rolling in the eyeballs. LOL. I don't think we have to pay medical bills anymore. Just tell them to put it on the Obama care. Beaton Report post Posted July 26, 2018 Speed sensor is on the side of the transmission but sometimes the p0500 can fool you and be a faulty tps sensor but the speed sensor is cheaper. Lucafu1 Report post Posted July 26, 2018 The symptoms you're describing are kinda confusing. Hard to start? Like it cranks slow? How's the battery? Starter going out? P0500 won't cause any starting or running issues unless the wiring is damaged and shares the same circuit as something else that can cause problems. Honestly I would check out the idle air control valve on the throttle body. I am not that familiar with dodges because they're junk (Haha jk) but this was a problem on a family members truck (had a smaller v8). Start there if it doesn't work than I would be leaning towards a tps sensor. I replaced the trans speed sensor last weekend. It was only $20, and a 5 minute repair, but it didnt fix the problem. It still throws out the DTC of P0500, which is the sensor. What is the tps, and where would it be located? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

It starts really hard as if the engine was being held back from turning. I put a new starter in it 2 years ago. The battery is a 7 year old Interstate. Beaton Report post Posted July 26, 2018 Your symptoms are exactly what a faulty tps sensor will do. Go to autozone and get one. They are not expensive if it fixes it you won't be out a lot of money for the part.
