Snapshot Report post Posted July 25, 2018 My 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4,5.9l V8 with auto trans has a problem. Diagnostic reader says ..... DTC P0500 ...Speed sensor problem. I replaced the tranny and rear diff sensors. I checked the fuses Problem remains. The vehicle starts hard as if there is a load on the engine. will not stay running if I take my foot off the gas, unless it is thoroughly warmed up and driven for 10 minutes. I am a "do it myself" type of guy, and I am a pretty fair mechanic, except for these type of electrical or troubleshooting issues. I have researched the internet, and some guys have had related issues caused by the Anti lock brake module problems? Fuses? Reluctor ring gear? If it was a bad reluctor, why would my truck run fine after its warmed up? Any advice would be appreciated! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

But my old clunker needs to be replaced with a new one. This truck belonged to my Dad, I bought it from my sister after he passed on. I had an '05 at the time. It has 230,000 hard miles on it. Awhile back I had a DTC code that came up as torque converter shift solenoid. But it went away? The Transmission has been acting strange for a little while. Snapshot Report post Posted July 26, 2018 Funds are tight right now. I just had to pay for some medical bills. I will have to do what I can on my own for now. Its been awhile since I serviced the Trans. This weekend I am going to pull the pan, and flush the trans, and new fluid and filter. If it doesnt stall or buck than its most likely not a converterWhen I first start it up in the morning, the engine struggles to turn over, as if a brake was being applied, and it will stall if I take my foot off the gas. It runs fine after it warms up for awhile.? Bur there are no lurching problems that I have noticed. I'm not certain, but the leak may be a front shaft seal, or a leaking TC?
