Couzer Report post Posted August 8, 2018 What is up with the thick build up of algae slime at Big Lake......I have never seen it like that there. Nelson and Luna yes but not at Big Lake??? Its because Big Lake has been getting lots of rain and the nutrients goes way up creating lots phosphorus and nitrogen. Just the right cocktail of sun, rain, wind, and weather will produce this bloom. The algea bloom could kill all the fish off it gets to bad. Cannero lake just had one and killed last month I heard. Big Lake being deeper and larger I doubt it will kill, it never does from what Ive seen.

There were lots of lunkers swimming right up at the edge just under the murk slime.......it made me worry that in fact there was going to be a kill! I just have never seen it like that at Big Lake.
