idgaf Report post Posted July 6, 2018 9 years ago today, after losing my password and changing emails I started posting under this moniker. I should probably thank CAPAZ for increasing my post count substantially. Here are some of things I have seen, killed and ran from along the way. Stuff I killed my last rifled animal (I think) unit 1- 190 yard shot- 3c -OTC I remember I got stuck behind a Dbag super road hunter at daylight going 4 MPH in new dark colored GMC on rim road. He would not let me pass so I went to a spot I hadnt hunted before and took him with a first pin shot. Dbag road hunter gave me stink eye when he drove back and I at my truck with him. MLK Weekend 2015. blind old and I think I shot at him with a rifle 4 years previously. 36C - Misjudged the first shot so badly it did not spook him (guessed 1st pin) gathered my loss of judgement reaimed with my 3rd pin and center punched him. you can seen the shadow of the fletching in his chest. biggest 150" buck ever, my favorite trophy. ] MLK Day buck. 1st pin 24A all of the Gov't facilities were closed that day so it made for a little shorter than normal working day selling light bulbs. on the way back to show low from globe I stopped, walked a couple of miles spotted him, snuck in and shot him with while wearing levi's and a golf shirt. The pack out was very heavy. new years eve buck. 36C recurve. messed up on the 100" two minutes later this guy takes the same path. I remember launching the arrow it taking a week to get there and then it dropping in its tracks. and me saying aloud "holy shoot I hit it" Late Season 3C archery bull. Last Day, Thanksgiving Day. 18 yard shot hit in the hip started the blood trailing foamy pink blood. went back to town, got my brother-in-law, brother and nephew. the way he positioned after his jaunts, I couldnt tell where the vitals were. Me and my brother-in-law ended up having T-day dinner in Camo. When I took it to the butcher the next day, he asked why I shoot him 5 times and I said, " because I didn't have six arrows" After walking over 200 miles between scouting and hunting and pushing arrow to nip his tail. I got this guy with my 3rd pin in 3bs. Some of the animals I passed. My brain was broken those days. 18 yards opening day(jan1) 5 minutes from camp 36C 36 yards from the truck. 3 miles from a mountain. I was not believing it was coues for about 5 minutes and then it was to late. It bolted right after I started pulling back. I rather watch a fight than hunt distracted deer Unit 21 August got to 12 yards and than didnt trust myself that I was that close During the late unit 1 hunt last year. I thought I could find a bigger bull. I couldn't Another stalk where I didnt trust myself see above. lots of junk on this one. Rio in 13b. Too close to the road for my taste. I ended up getting skunked on a 17 point rio hunt. I'm sure the guys crossing the border will pay taxes and play nice with others. Small stuff Other stuff Nephews first buck Brothers biggest buck. 3x8 Brother put the first shot in him, it ran over the hill and a hillbilly driving out put rounds 2-4 into him Crime scene Coyote Shot at dawn Step Dads first and likely only big game animal Got Elk (yes they are all bulls) Other stuff Lion killed antelope. I had a tag and watched that buck go over the hill. When I got their I saw this. now that I am at 1000 post I am less of nerd than I was yesterday, well slightly. idgaf Report post Posted July 6, 2018 Any more detail on how it ended with your brothers buck and the other guy putting shots on it? My brother had about 150 yard shot and I watched the buck buckle after he shot, it ran over the ridge line. We followed a few minutes later, once we got to the edge of the ridge bullets were hitting all around us. we yelled and got to the buck just after the other shooter. We asked if he heard the shot about 5 minutes earlier, he said NO. My brother stuck out his hand and said congratulations. I asked if I could take the picture you see and he said yes. the hillbilly was shaking from excitement and maybe some angst.
