11hunter11 Report post Posted January 13, 2008 Dont know if its true, but i have heard that unit 23 will be a draw, i think there should be 2 quotas, one for rifle and one for bow but they have put both together and it goes against archers. mattys281 Report post Posted January 14, 2008 As low as the success rate is for archery deer hunters, I don't see how it makes any sense at all. It's just another way for the G&F to encourage "hunter recruitment & retention". Take away baiting, put otc permits on a draw & do anything else you can think of to make it harder for people to hunt. Here is a cut and past of another members post' "3A/3C - 150 tags 3B - 75 tags 7 - 500 tags 12A - 1850 tags 13A - 120 tags 13B - 120 tags January 2 week season instated: units 4AB, 8 & 9 .... not sure which 2 weeks December season cancelled: units 17A, 20A, 22, 23, 35A, 37A & 42. All the archery deer hunters that draw a permit for 12A, 13A & 13B can also buy over the counter buffalo and elk tags like the rifle hunters can.
