Next Years Buck

Recommended Posts

Man am I going crazy or is that an eastern. His hair color, length and nose features sure do look like my Kansas whitetail on the wall. I may be totally wrong too, just asking.

I posted a picture of a huge Coues buck i took a few years back and pulled them from the site the same day because a couple people wanted to claim i had a texas buck in my photo. Only a few people on the site agreed that it was a coues buck and wanted me to put the photos back up. I did not put them up again, But i have been back to that spot time and time again and never seen this buck again. And i got the photo within a 100 yards from the highway. Looks like a great buck to me i would shoot it.

I see 47" right, 53" on the left with maybe a 15" spread so 115 gross. EBB

That is exactly what I came up with! Great looking buck with a ton of character!

I guess I should just stick with the carp. Even I can identify a carp when I see one. I don't care what the heck it is I would put the smack down on him

If I had personally taken this picture I would probably be a lot quicker to defend it. However I didn’t. I also have no reason to doubt the integrity of my friend. He told me where and when he took this picture and I believe him. It’s a mountain range in Arizona that I’ve hunted before and I am sure many CWT’ers have hunted as well. I also don’t make it a practice of mine to try and dupe friends, be it in person or online. Not to detract from this buck, but there happens to be a lot of pictures of larger Coues deer on this website. I have a picture on my profile of a buck my sister killed last year (still jealous) that I think is bigger and I know it didn’t come from Texas……. As for it being the same buck in both pictures I’ve spent a lot of time staring at it and I’m pretty sure it is, the left side has me sold on that fact. The reason I posted the pictures is because I wanted some honest feedback on the magnitude of this deer and I told my friend I would get some differing opinions on him. My personal guess was around 110”. I’m glad he shared his pictures with me and I’m glad I got to share them with you guys/gals. On that note Im going to leave this at what it is…….a picture of a great buck that I’m sure any of us would be stoked to have a shot at. Have a good one.

I'm not very good at judging inches, so I stick to a more simplistic scoring method that revolves around 2 criteria:

Status: legal / not legal

Size: youngster / nice one / monster

I think you've found a legal monster. Fire away!

105 is my "uneducated guess"

But all that matters is he is big enough to shoot. I see antlers bigger than his ears and I'm shootin!

I would score him "0" and Me (Hunter) "1". I would drop his butt and worry about the score later! It's just a number thing anyways! He is a true trophy!

THAT IS ONE NICE DEER. BUT HAS ANYONE NOTICED THAT HE IS TAN I COLOR? HE LOOKS TO ME LIKE A COUES BUT SHOULD HAVE VELVET IF HE IS THAT COLOR. OR AM I WRONG? STILL A VERY NICE DEER.
