Water Treatment Operators

Recommended Posts

I retired 3 years ago from Chandler Water Treatment Plant as an operator. If anyone is interested I highly recommend you at least get your grade 1 before applying for a job. Get your foot in the door and continue to upgrade your certs as often as you can. There will always be job openings in the water treatment or waste water. Sounds like a good opportunity right here for someone with grade 3 & 4. :)

What if you have a big ole pile of common sense but no certification saying so?

About like guys with college degree

I just started working on my certs. If your going to be in the water/waste water industry you might as well plan on getting them.

dang! No official college here. Ive just been fixing things for the past 18 years. If the money is good, Ill get the certifications.
I dont believe they will not let you test for grade 1 without completing 30 credit hours (certificate of completion in water technology). Gateway CC wont.
I took my collections 1 test couple months ago. Never took 1 college class.

We are always looking for Meter Readers and Serviceman also. You do need a Grade 1 Distribution Cert to get in the door.

Noah at ADEQ is a good dude and will start you in the right direction if this is a field you are interested in. Gateway now proctors all exams for Cert's.
