TROY,

the first one made the signal worse.

So I bought another one for my other truck

It did not make any differance in signal strength

So I decided to spend another $40.00 dollars and

put one in my hunting pack just to carry it around <_<

Geez :(

YES! they work

Mike :P

I have been with Alltel for 10 years and I get signal all the way from Ajo to 36B, 8, 10 7W to Baltimore Maryland, Casper Wyoming, Anchorage and Fairbanks Alaska and even the Hawaiian Islands! Had a few friends change from their carriers just for that reason. I always have service!

I've been with Verizon for a few years now and the only place I've had a problem is around Happy Jack (5b south) up toward Mormon Lake.

My dad has at&t, and has the same problem.

The external antennas are great. I have had one for awhile and they really help the reception, I can get service all the way from Phoenix to Payson with only 2 dead zones. Now for the bad, I just got a new phone and looked for the external port on it and guess what, they are doing away with the external antenna ports on the new phones. They now make a wireless amp you can buy (250 bucks) that runs either 12v or 120v. Then anyone in the vehicle or house could get reception. I am sure that would help but for 250 bucks I may keep my old phone, it still works pretty good.

Verizon all the way....good service in the 34's,35's and 36. Decent on the strip, good in the white mtns. I do have trouble near (not in) Flagstaff.

I've tried to buy the antenna set up at radioshack, but the girl in the nogales store thinks i'm crazy.

Verizon for sure!!!! I had Verizon for 5+ years but switched to Cingular/ATT because of the international roaming (I have to travel the globe for work.....). My new service might be good for Asia, but I DEFINITELY noticed degradation in local service from when I had Verizon.

Hopefully someday Verizon will get their Asia coverage figured-out so I can switch back!
