brademan76 Report post Posted May 24, 2018 Have an axis buck cape in the freezer if anyone wants it. Wife's buck taken in TX first week of June 2017. I caped it off the skull and well past the shoulder (for wall pedestal) within two hours of killing it where it went right into a freezer, so its in good shape. Ended up just euro-ing the skull and antlers and thought I'd tan the hide myself like I have in the past, but at this point I'd rather just have it out of my freezer. brademan76 Report post Posted May 24, 2018 You bet, I've done that with doe axis skins in the past. Its cut up the spine though, so a person could maybe make one double-sided pillow or two one-sided pillows from the shoulder areas as its got good spots.
