Possible 153 in coues pickup

Recommended Posts

Need a better close-up of that skull and hide. Looks a little on the muley side to me IMO. Redshwanz is right about the skulls too. No difference in a 200" coues head to a 90" head. I think to many people are quick to throw out the ol "hybrid" word when there's been few actually documented that actually were. Got any better pics?

Looks like a muley IMO. Both sides fork just like a muley, also smaller eyeguards. His antlers just grew a little different on the right side. Great find!

Yep, I agree from that angle it does look a lot more like a muley than from the first pictures. Nice buck regardless, and those other 2 are super bucks also.

looks like a coues

I had it scored. It scored 153 and some change.

Still no word yet on what it is. Last thing I heard was it went up for auction or is in the evidence locker.

I didnt know there was a Pima County in Texas.

Not texas bud. Those other two whitetail racks. Are coues shot from both members of this site. I am a Sheriffs deputy and was the one who caught the illegals with this rack. There is no way they came from texas to cross in arizona.

One major key why the Az game and fish thought it was not a hybrid was because the rack itself was heavy. Usually in hybrid it is very light weight.

The left horn looks muley, but the right looks whitetail.

It was so hard to tell but when I took it from the illegals I was working midnights, but I stayed up untill we had it scored and made the attempts to find out what it was. Great rack. We might never know.

reminds me of this really huge set of sheds I found and just knew they were Whitey. . . I got ahold of Josh and took them by him LOL!!!

thats a funny story man.

I scouted those animals for months trying to see if they were crossbreeds and well sadly they were just screwed up muleys.
