Coatimundi Forms?

Recommended Posts

I am looking for options on coati forms they seem to be hard to come by, I can only find one on McKenzie and I don't like it much. Anybody out there have any leads?

Thanks in advance

I’m pretty sure most taxidermist use other forms and shape them for coatis. That’s one of the reasons they are so dang expensive to have mounted.

Wow, that's a Boone and Crockett Coati for sure 😂.

We get about as many of those up by Prescott as we do coues deer, although according to GFD they're both around....

My friend at superstition creations uses a weasel or ring-tailed cat for his forms. He will cut the head off sometimes and change the position of the head , turn it a different direction etc...He has done a few that I know of. He has one he's doing for me now  .I got in unit 24b.. This is him..He weighed about 35 pounds. Has a damb nice winter coat. Crossbow kill at 15 yards. I had to back up away from him to get a shot that wouldn't cut him in half. First one I ever saw. Now I see them often up there .

How does he use a ringtail or a weasel ? They weigh about a pound and you said yours was 35 lbs ? You could fit several of them inside a coati ….. there are only a couple commercial forms available - you have to carve a foam one or do a “soft wrapped body” custom made …. To the position you want .

these are all 3 custom made bodies .

I never seen him do any of it. But that's what I was told. I know he says that he has to customize the forms he uses to fit the look he wants..
