So I k now that the gilbert pd cadets were selling the flashlights as theyre fundraiser for two years. one of my buddies bought one. At the G&F expo, he had the flashlights and a couple of lanterns. all of his stuff has a built in solar charger, and a conventional wall charger. also has a port to charge your phone.pretty light weight stuff. and of course, cheaper on amazon. Red Sparky Report post Posted April 17, 2018 Last year at Walmart I bought the Atomic Beam that takes 3 AA batteries. It has a magnetic base, hook in the base, or the handle so many ways to use it. The brightness is dependent on how far you open it so you can control the amount of light. I hung it from the ridge pole in the tent and in the morning just pull it down for light. Easy to take it to the outhouse or out to the grill. Used it for two weeks and it is still going on one set of batteries.
dmoto Report post Posted April 17, 2018 Costco has a set of 3 collapsible LED lanterns that take AA batteries for $20. Granted I haven't tried them yet, but I usually have decent luck with lanterns I've bought from them in the past. However, the solar inflatable lanterns in the previous post look pretty good for a tent lantern. I ended up ordering a few. Thanks for posting those.
Red Rabbit Report post Posted April 17, 2018 look at the Mpowered Luci lanterns. I love them. I have given them as Christmas gifts/guide gifts for a couple years now. Everyone loves them. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DQ1RDWS/ref=asc_df_B00DQ1RDWS5441988/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=394997&creativeASIN=B00DQ1RDWS&linkCode=df0&hvadid=178159343748&hvpos=1o2&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15748477326963745710&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9030068&hvtargid=pla-311503752408 I have a couple of these. The frosted gives a warmer more pleasing light than the clear version. No batteries to replace. Good for in a tent or camper.
BeardownAZ Report post Posted April 17, 2018 Bought some of the Dorcy 1000 lumen ones from Big 5 and they are pretty bright and seem to last along time. Not sure how sturdy they are over the long haul will be but they work good as of now. Im getting to the point were I try and drag the least amount of stuff out for camping and such. No small propane tanks is one if I can help it.

rcdinaz Report post Posted April 18, 2018 I have a rechargable one that will also charge your phone. My wife gave it to me for my BDay and it has lasted a long time but the switxh finally went. I agree with the recommendation on the little pop ip ones on Amazon. They work well, 3 pack is cheap and they are surpisingly durable. I also recommend the solar powered light that blow up. Really coonvenient since they fold flat and never need batteries.
