Red Rabbit Report post Posted January 5, 2008 A word of THANKS to Scout'm, SunDevil and FirstCoues who volunteered their time to come out and help glass during the hunt. Also to those of you who emailed and pm'd information about the unit. Hunting a different unit that one has never been in before can be both a daunting and enjoyable task. Having people on this site who will give valuable advice to those they have not met says a lot about the friends here. Vielen Dank Doug~RR

gorczyca Report post Posted January 7, 2008 Doug- Great story and photos. I know it's been said and I'll add to it...we've all been there. I too have lost deer/javelina with well placed shots not to find or recover them after. It's all part of hunting as you know. You are a great hunter and we all know you did your best by the animal. A few years ago I was on an archery pig hunt w/ Scott Adams...I shot a pig at 18 yards and shot him square in the boiler maker...he got into a HUGE pile of boulders never to been seen from again. it happens. The UP side is...there's ALWAYS next year....err...this year. Casey- Go find doug's dead deer! Scott G.

Hooked_on_Coues Report post Posted January 19, 2008 RR, Crying shame, sorry to hear what happened. Based on the pics I would say it was a success overall. Time in the hills is good. I must say you are much braver than I. The stock on your rifle looks great from a small pic. I would roach that on a coues hunt in about two minutes. I used to have pretty guns before I started couzin...... HoC
Red Rabbit Report post Posted January 21, 2008 Rica and I went back to the scene of the crime this past weekend, looking for any dead bodies up the draws from the spot of last blood. Returned back to camp with tuckered legs and two mearns. Next season. Hooked- the gun did receive a couple character marks, but not bad enough that I would leave it in a safe and carry a black tupperware stock out of fear of a ding.
