CatfishKev Report post Posted March 31, 2018 So we're good on trout now. Tell me all about your favorite crappie lures, tackle, time of year etc. Saw guys at Pattagonia this week catching fish nonstop while I was trying to catch bluegill for flathead for the evening. Gonna take the fam Sunday and give it a whirl. Also, how would you compare them to bluegill or trout as far as table fare. Why is it they have no bag limit? Ed67 Report post Posted March 31, 2018 Trolling slow at Alamo with a 1/16 oz colored jig and a one inch pink single tail grub in April has caught hundreds of crappie for me and my boy. We like it much better than stocker trout
CatfishKev Report post Posted March 31, 2018 The guys I saw catching were casting from shore with bobbers and grub jigs pulling in pretty slow. Seemed effective. Do other fis hit those jigs too?

creed_az_88 Report post Posted March 31, 2018 Never had perch but the boys I know from Michigan prefer bluegill over walleye or perch and they're hardcore walleye fisherman. Where does split tail rank?
PRDATR Report post Posted March 31, 2018 Never fished for them or ate them. Caught some leftover trout this morning including one fat Tiger. Might have to go for Crappie sometime later this month when I have time. I have found that many times fish taste like the water the live in.
