Saguaro Report post Posted March 29, 2018 Did Arizona have any high school rifle teams? I saw this article and it made me wonder if there's any past or present or if any members here were a part of one. I can't see new teams forming anytime soon with this political environment. https://www.yahoo.com/news/high-school-rifle-team-gets-101437339.html

Hoss50 Report post Posted March 30, 2018 North High School had one in the JROTC program. They still might. The range was built in the bottom of the football stadium in the JROTC classroom area.
Saguaro Report post Posted March 30, 2018 It looks like the clubs use air rifles. That could be for a few reasons like range space and ventilation. Does anyone know if they still use 22lr anywhere?
Pine Donkey Report post Posted March 31, 2018 Tombstone High has one. We completed a 6 lane range a couple years ago and the team is doing very well. They qualified, as a team, for nationals in Ohio. The NRA has made generous donations to our team.

10Turkeys Report post Posted March 31, 2018 Years ago at an annual member's meeting at Rio Salado, one member had some Az State tax forms that allowed you to designate 400.00 of your tax dollars to a specific organization, he was pushing for the Wickenburg HS rifle team. In today's climate might be worth looking into again.
