SunDevil Report post Posted March 22, 2018 marlas the panga fisherman all belong to a co-op so their rates should all be the same lots of quality inshore fishing and you never know what kind of pelagics may be in close a 1.5 - 3.5 trip would probably be required to catch a big tuna good luck. post up some pics when you get back. tight lines! AZkiller Report post Posted March 22, 2018 $1050 for marlas wow! Cows are supposed to be within 20miles that time of year. Don't know how I'm going to fish yet. My 7yo son wants to go and I dont know that I want him in a panga but he can't catch anything big either. A bay trip on a 29ft is 450 and I'm kinda leaning on that and just fishing snapper. Idk I'm torn.
trphyhntr Report post Posted March 22, 2018 torn between snappers or cow tunas? Sad. There's probably cheaper boats maybe a good panga captain that will go for tuna if they're that close.

Obviously I would rather fish cows. My 7yo probably won't enjoy watching me catch fish all day while he eats fruit snacks... Fishing changes when kids want to go. So do your priorities, at least they should.
SunDevil Report post Posted March 23, 2018 there are some pangas that run from smaller communities north of Puerto Vallarta. < 1 hr drive but will save time in the boat going in/out to fishing grounds means more fishing time for you and may put you within range of a 8 hr panga cow trip
AZkiller Report post Posted March 23, 2018 Hooked. Dude has 1 boat 75 an hour. Says most of the time don't plan on cows within 100mi. Loves to have kids on the boat says he would hope for toro.
