Ruger Predator in 6.5 CM, anyone have one?

Recommended Posts

I have one. Shoots about .75 moa, maybe a little better, with factory hornady eldx 143 gr. The stocks are notorious for touching the barrel on the left side, so I opened up the barrel channel with sandpaper, took like 10 minutes. The stock is cheap, but functions just fine I think. I adjusted the trigger as light as it would go, and I like it.ive never had a high dollar trigger, but it is about the perfect weight for a hunting rifle and breaks smooth and crisp.

I look at that rifle as a very functional and serviceable rifle at a great price. Biggest drawback is the cheapie stock, but it works.

I have one shoots great with Hornady 143gr eldx. 1st pic is a 3 shot group at 100. 2nd pic is 443 yards my shot and then my son on consecutive shots. Only thing I did was add a timmey trigger set at 1.5 lbs.

That is one of the most accurate factory guns I've ever seen!

Everybody brags these up so much I'm gonna have to buy some or at least 1 to start. :]

For the money it's hard to beat.

Sorta looking that way.

Accuracy with factory ammo is fantastic - mine likes 143 Eldx and great round for hunting as well. Overall, action is cheap and not smooth at all. The detachable magazine is plastic and has jammed a couple of times when the kids are excited and trying to chamber a round in the heat of the moment. Gives the feel of being cheaply built but I dont mind the trigger, though, and it is easy to adjust. Love that it comes threaded for a muzzle brake. Screwed one on and the kids and anybody else who has shot it for that matter absolutely loves to shoot it. Its not a beauty but I dont know that you can find a more fun gun to shoot or better shooter for that price.

Ive never had a accuracy problem with any ruger varmit gun shooting factory loads and I have a crap ton of them from .223-.308 and everything in between(except for the newer cals. most are ruger m77varmits and m77 MKII varmits then of course my ruger #1 varmits. with reloads they cut the factory accuracy by 3/4. with one exception my 25-06 m77 mkII varmit cant hold under 3/4" group at 100 yards with factory or reloads. but I have another one to try.

Shooter right out of the box. My 10yo daughter loves shooting it with the brake...and she let me borrow it for my coues hunt. 425yds and I saw the buck drop in the scope. Agree with the stock contacting the barrel on the one side, but I haven’t even done anything about it yet. Still shoots great. Magazine does have a cheap feel to it, and I like the trigger as is. Smoother than my old Remington 700.

Same as above , shoots great. I sanded the stock as well. For the price and you are able to screw on a brake and all my kids can shoot it fine. My 11 year old boy killed his buck last year at 434 yards. Yes there's alot of plastic but haven't had any issues and is a great starter gun.
