Edge Report post Posted March 14, 2018 Anyone else experience trouble with the bolt catch on their AR not holding the bolt open? Works fine with an empty magazine but remove the mag or try and open lock the bolt open with anything but an empty magazine and the slightest jar slams the bolt shut. I'm quickly learning there's a huge difference between military and civilian specs. .300 Only occurs with no mag or loaded mag, works as should with empty magazine. Which gun has the problem now? The part causing the failure could be in either the upper or lower. My first guess would be the bolt catch but the bolt assembly is also a possibility. Somebody makes a wedge that installs behind the rear take down pin and takes some of the slop out of a loose upper / lower fit. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
