Buying a used suburban or yukon, what to look for?

Recommended Posts

They don't all have loud ticks. I have 150k on a 2010 5.3 and it doesn't tick at all. Could start tomorrow though

same here. My 2011 is pushing 80k and no tick. I bought my 2008 new and had 160k with no tick. Full synthetic oil and factory filters changed every 3500-4500 miles.

08-11 were the worst i believe. I know GM was sending us free camshafts and lifters to repair our trucks. But like i said they are used and abused. Oil changes ever 12K, new filters and top offs ever 4K in between. i dont think it is a huge issue at all.

Found a nice truck I'm gonna look at. What are your guys experience with non working cruise control. That's one of the only issues. Otherwise very clean in and out.

Strong engine. Top end sucks due to the fuel management programming. Mine was at 110,000 when i had to do top end. Motor mounts suck also.

Id look at a 6.0 or I wouldnt look at all.

Why

One of the greatest gas motors ever built, IMO. Its also usually paired with a decent transmission. The rear main seal may leak on certain models, but you will own the road.
