Snapshot Report post Posted March 10, 2018 You can cover the ugly spot if you can find a jumbo sized overflow cover. It won't seal because the part of the tub that it seals against is gone. Any water that goes through the overflow slot in the cover would leak under the tub. Might have to get creative and use a jumbo cover, a couple of gaskets, and a little silicone? You can also get a blank cover to eliminate the use of the overflow. As far as the cosmetics, there are companies that can refinish the surface, or you can buy a small bottle of touch up paint for fixing bathtub/sink chips. AZbowhntr Report post Posted March 10, 2018 I have a buddy that could probably fix it. He would cut out all the rusted area and patch and refinish. I have referred him to people I have done home inspections for and they are always pleased. Not sure if there is a limit on the amount of damage though.
