DipCope Report post Posted March 5, 2018 Whustof Classic! Cutco is a good knife but they are a pain in the but to resharpen do to the micro-serrations they put on the blades and they are stamped stainless steel vs the Whustof's forged steel blade. More of a personal choice but the Whustof to me has a better heft and durability in the hand.
eastvalleyjerry Report post Posted March 5, 2018 Victorinox makes good knives. They are cheap on amazon and stay sharp forever. Only ever bought the paring knives.
Lv2hnt Report post Posted March 5, 2018 You can buy a complete knife set, but probably use just 3 the most --- chef's knife, boning knife, and paring knife. Quality before quantity ...
Hoss50 Report post Posted March 5, 2018 I picked up a couple of the Victorinox pairing knives awhile back and love them. They are very handy, and have stayed pretty darn sharp.
hoghntr Report post Posted March 6, 2018 As someone who has spent more than that on sets of knives, I would recommend forgoing the knife set and buying individual knives. Do some research, tons of info out there. If she wants everything to look pretty, buy a set. If she wants everything to cut perfectly, buy individually. Truth!
