My sons University is playing a baseball tournament in Tucson March 1. I was looking for some suggestions on a safe hotel in Tucson for my wife and I. Thanks in advance.

It is still listed as TBA, the team is booked at the Best Western Foothills. The only rooms left there are $150 or more a night.

+ 1 on El Conquistador. I really like staying at the Arizona Inn as well, if you want to be closer to downtown and like the historic feel. That being said, it's tourist season in Tucson and if you're blinking at $150 per night, neither of those will likely be in your price range.

My advice would be to lock-in at the first place you find in the area $100-$150. Safe? Anywhere on the NW side, maybe?? If you want the resort experience, be prepared to spend twice that.

Good luck! And good luck to your son as well!!

S.

I just stayed at the Hilton on East Broadway for $100/ night. Very nice place; recently remodeled, heated pool, restaurant and lounge on 2nd floor. Very clean and very friendly service. Planning on staying there again next time we go down.

Have had family stay there when visiting and had no complaints. Be aware the gem show is going on so prices will be higher due to that.

Games will probably be at Kino Complex, StarPass Marriott is close and very nice. March 1 is still winter rates unfortunatley.
