dgrace Report post Posted February 7, 2018 Hey all, I'm in the market for a good long range set up, mostly for coues hunting, in 6.5 creedmoor. I've looked at several models at Sportsmens recently including: Tikka T3x, Savage model 16, browning xbolt, and Saur 100. The guy behind the counter was pretty high on the Saur 100. It's a gun I hadn't seen or heard anything about. Does anybody own one, or have any experience with it? Looking to get most bang for my buck in a non-custom 6.5 creedmor. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Donny
rossislider Report post Posted February 7, 2018 I can't speak to the Saur, but I recently picked up a Ruger Precision in 6.5 creedmore, I needed something that would go small (stock length) for my petite 10 year old daughter to use. It is a heavy sucker, but for a factory gun, the accuracy is ridiculous. I'll also add that every Tikka I've owned has been a solid sub MOA shooter. Most under half MOA once I got the load worked out.
CatfishKev Report post Posted February 7, 2018 Best bang for your buck I would go ruger like mentioned above. I was gonna get one for my kid but cabelas had a black Friday deal for a savage fv12 that was too good to pass up.
rossislider Report post Posted February 7, 2018 What is your budget? I have several buddies who have bought Ruger Predators in 6.5 Creedmore and everyone of them rave about the performance. You can get into one of those for sub $500. Also, I can't speak to these rifles as I have never owned or shot one, but this looks to be a heck of a deal at Cabelas with great reviews. $269 with the rebate.
thegunsmith2506 Report post Posted February 8, 2018 The seekins rifle in the last cabelas ad looked pretty interesting. There are lots of good options out right now. I picked up an xbolt for $479.99 with a $50 rebate last October. Best factory gun I own.
azhuntnut Report post Posted February 8, 2018 I have a Creedmoor and a Rem 260 that both shoot very well. This one in the classifieds would do everything you want. I would buy it if I didnt already have to many irons in the fire right now. They are showing $419 regular price right now on the website. I see the $100 off rebate but not the $50 instant rebate.
