disapearing camera

Recommended Posts

A friend of mine had placed several trail cameras on southern slopes of the burro mountains two of them were placed close together, one of them was taken or possibly borrowed, but any way the one that was not taken had some interesting photos of the possible borrower. he decided that he would let this person have a few days to return the camera befor persuing the identity of the borrower at sporting good stores in the southwest area of new mexico, also he will post an add in the silver city daily press with an address for the return of this camera. this camera had a password and is not any good without this password, the manufacture has also been notified with serial number and password. he is new to coues deer hunting and is totaly disgusted with it all he has taken down his tree stand and removed all his cameras. this just isnt right we would apreciate any help in the return of this camera.

This is a great website I have been watching it for a few years and I finaly decided to become a member ill post trail cam pictures of my own later thanks

Why would he want to give him a chance to return it? Post his picture and lets find this person and ask some questions. I know most of the archery Coues hunters in Silver City.

I also have trail cameras and treestands out in thre Burros. A wood cutter drove his truck betwwen my stand and the camera. The stand is 1/2 miles from any "open" road. He cut a green juniper down right on the trail I was hunting. I called the FS and they pretty much couldn't do nothing about it unless I had a plate number.

I am with everyone else here. I am a coues hunter that lives in Silver City. You see more and more posts of cameras being stolen in AZ and I have been happy that similar instances are not occuring as often here in NM. However, if it starts we as a hunting community need to stand up for ourselves and stick up for one another. This guy that stole the cameras is probably the same kind of person that would poach a deer, cut a green tree, drive off roadways, etc. We should not stand by and let it happen. Post the pictures of the man so that we can know who to watch out for. I have cameras in unit 24 right now, not chained or locked or nothing. I know that may be stupid on my part, but I know that I can trust all the true, honest hunters out there. Lets not let one jerk start a trend!

I would post them in a minute, but my friend is very passive and wants to get his camera back but doesnt want to ruin anybody in the process every body makes mistakes and theyll be given a fair chance to right the wrong that was done. without giving up identity or being held acountable. I too dont chain my cameras so i guess it is just a matter of time befor they dissapeer also. but they are the most addicting past time that i have ever got involved with.

Maybe we can tie him to the jackasses that established a fourwheeler trail into the an area in 24 to hang treestands (5 that I found). If you're out there, nice going! Every little bit of lazyness on your part surely will help the roadless iniatiative to shut down the roads in the forests, not to mention screw up a nice ridge to hunt coues on.
