My Rights As An American Report post Posted January 13, 2018 Anybody an authorized contractor for gas dryers with Lowes? Neglected to schedule one and they tried to deliver it today. Apparently they do not install gas dryers and warranty becomes void if not installed by an authorized installer. Live near BassPro. Thanks!
wildwoody Report post Posted January 13, 2018 Any plumbing contractor in good standing with the ROC should be fine.
PRDATR Report post Posted January 13, 2018 Bad on them for not telling you that at the time of the sale.
My Rights As An American Report post Posted January 13, 2018 They did but I was not there when buying it. It was bought in November and just delivered yesterday. I was told in November but thought they would mention it when scheduling. I forgot also since the purchase. Now I have to wait until Monday earliest to schedule one. They want $150 to swap it out. Seems ridiculously easy with an inline gas valve that can be shut off. Pretty expensive to unscrew one line and screw it onto the next line.
PRDATR Report post Posted January 13, 2018 Plumbers are expensive. At least you don't need to pull a permit.
Snapshot Report post Posted January 13, 2018 That whole warranty deal is a farce. Its an easy peasy install. Lowes should have a list of qualified installers.? Home depot has a network of installers. One of the installation issues they have, is so a homeowner doesn't hook up a natural gas appliance to a propane system, or vice versa. A big Kaboom, if the gas orifice is not swapped for propane.
