thunderbolt Report post Posted December 16, 2007 Well i sat my first stand saturday. Got it right as the sky was starting to lighten. sat in the treestand, got my safety harness on and was about to pull up my bow and realized i had dropped the rope to pull up my bow. well i finally settled in and i nearly froze. I had plenty of clothing, just couldn't keep warm after walking in some deep snow to get to the stand. well after 4 grueling hours of trying to keep warm i got down and walked around to see where the trails i saw led to. about 90 yards from my stand i found a dead fawn. no blood, no puncture wounds, no missing hair, just dead. i was thinking the poor little thing coundn't handle the temps on the mountain. I didn't see any other deer except for the deer i found dead. it was fun trying the stand out for the first time and freezing.
