New wheel advice

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to get new tires and wheels. Anyone have opinions or advice on aftermarket wheels.

F150 truck, currently on 18s and want to stay with 18s.

It really comes down to personal preference. When I went with aftermarket wheels, the biggest thing I had to look for was the correct offset. I can not stand a wheel that sticks too far out of the fender. When I went wider on the tire, I had to counter that with a different offset, but still have enough to clear your suspension. Good luck

The offset is the next thing to worry, then if you go too wide, then you need to get the bushwacker fender flares etc.... I like to have my tire just on the fender edge.

leave them stock

Leave the rims stock but get a decent A/T tire tread as it will get stuck on a postage stamp off road with factory tires.

I know this is a chevy and only 16" wheels but I ended up going with Nitto grapplers. Ran michelans with 70k warranty since 2005 and the last 2 sets only lasted 1.5 years each set and we only put about 12k a year on the truck.

plus these were a ton cheaper than the michelans and everyone said they will last longer.

I dont know the wheel name but they were pretty cheap. I had to adjust the front end about 2" to level it out so the tires didnt rub.

They run really nice and are quiet, track really well to.

No I watched Born and Raise, Land of the Free Episode 42. Great ad for new Dodge and factory tires.
