Adicted Report post Posted December 14, 2017 Well we started off down south and always have a great time...It was myself and my little guy. I am not a rack hunter but a meat hunter. Love coues deer. I got my deer out of the way right off the get go. Shot was 800 yds. 2 shots. We then kept glassing and was able to glass up a few bucks on a ridge. My youngest son dylan while sound asleep was woke up by us to shoot his deer, and he made a one shot kill at 550 yds. He ended up taking a nice little buck. This was the first time that I made my kids do the gutless method all the deers we killed this year. They took there time and did a great job. We were then off to my oldest sons muley hunt. We were hoping to hold out for a big deer but it was tough. The wind every morning was 30+ mph wind all morning where we were glassing up high. We saw alot of deer just not what we wanted. On the 3 rd day we ended up finding a buck with the help of our buddy Seek100plus and after a brutal hike in the dark in the morning we finally get up on the hill. Once again the wind is just ripping and it was COLD.. We spotted a buck about a 3/4 mile away and my son and I decided to take a hike and get a better look. Turns out to be a 3pt. I let my son make the decision if he wants to shoot. We had 1 more full day and had to get back do to school requirements. He said dad, " its been super windy everyday and what if we dont see any other bucks, the bucks hate the wind." I said its your choice. He said lets do it. Shot was 575 yds and he put it down. Was a nice little journy to get to it but we got there and the buck wasnt as small as we thought. Nice little 3 pt. Hiked the buck out and drank beer at camp after that. We have had a great 4 years. 12 bucks in last 4 years. Not to bad. We are not trophy hunters, just love hunting. Thx for the help Robert.
