Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted December 12, 2007 Well...... Thanks Troy..... I feel like a Hero after reading your post. But, hey.... it is your story. What ol' HC left out of his story is how AWESOME his daughters are!!!!!! These two girls hunted one of the most rugged units in the state and while Mother Nature poured down the rain, they hunted...... and always carried a smile. They humped canyons and mountain sides, fought brush taller than they are, climbed up & down rock bluffs, and trudged through the mud...... never once, did I hear a whine or a complaint... and yet still more smiles. Troy was kind enough to let me use the girls to test out my new Huskemaw Optics Scope and my new Berger 168 gr. VLD hand loads...... and they worked!! We showed the girls bulls and gave them good equipment but they got the job done like they had been doing it for years!!! Both girls made Great one shot kills..... and were as calm as anyone could have asked them to be..... 385 yds and 450 yds!!!!! That is good shootin'!!! Don't get me wrong they were shakin' with excitement, but when I whispered for them to take the shot when they were ready...... they sucked it up and "got'er done". I just can't express how proud I am of these two girls. In hunts such as this, the "trophy" is not measured in inches bone..... but in priceless memories that two young girls will own forever. Just to fill two bull tags with 13 year old girls in a hunt like this ought to be pretty tough.... but those girls made it easy on us by shooting straight and being TOUGH. BTW.... besides boning and packing out these two bulls I help another buddy bone and pack his wife's bull in another unit.... 3 bulls in 5 days..... my frickin' back hurts, Troy!!!!!! Just aint nuthin' like getting bloody that may times in one week!!!! Gotta love it!!!!! I have to send out a big thanks to my Boy, Colton, for his help. And to Troy and the Girls, for letting me "tag along". What a Blast! CnS
