More D Report post Posted December 11, 2007 About a year ago while unloading the rifle here at home it jammed up very tight during the cycling with the lever open. I could not get it to close and I did not want to take it apart because it still had live rounds in it at the time. Finally after unloading it and working it over very good it finally broke loose but I now know the carrier assembly broke and needs to be replaced. I looked at Marlin's web site and they state that that particular part is 'Restricted-sent only to qualified gunsmith only'. I was hoping some one here might have some experience with this or know of a good gunsmith. This rifle is pretty special to me. It was a gift from my brother and it was made the same year I was born, 1974. I normally concider myself pretty handy buy I don't want to mess this rifle up in any way and I would hate to compramise safety just to save a few bucks. Thanks in advance......... CouesWhitetail Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Call Ron Sega. I hear very good things about his gunsmithing abilities. And please make sure you heard about him here on CouesWhitetail.com. If you go to his store, you can also see the leupold scope and range finder that he and Leupold are donating to our Coues Buck Contest. here is the text from a previous post about him. Hi All, When we announced the Coues buck contest and prizes, I mentioned that Ron Sega of AZ Guns Etc in Chandler was making a donation to the contest (Leupold rifle scope and range finder). In addition to that, he was offering all CouesWhitetail.com members a 12% discount on all accessories as well as $25 off any guns purchased at his store. Has anyone taking a trip to his store? What did you think? Did you get anything? I would really like to see some members benefitting from this offer and also to see Ron get some business after making such a generous donation to the contest. Ron provides some great service with customizing guns as well as just about anything you need for your guns. Ron has been in business for 20 years in Chandler, AZ (near Alma School and Warner). Go visit his store and see what he can do for you! give him a call, he is easy to talk to. 480-963-4311 Or visit his website: http://www.azgunsetc.net/home_.html I think he must have more stuff in his store than is listed on his website, so if you don't see what you want online, give him a call and see if he has it in stock or can get it for you.
