deernut Report post Posted December 11, 2007 And you thought he was kidding............... Melanism is a rare abnormality in deer but it pops up once in a while. This buck circulated around the internet a few years ago. I have more about melanism and albinos in my book (which is free if you can get someone to buy it for you for Christmas). Sportsman's Warehouse has a black mountain lion (thanks to a little black dye) JIM
300 ultra mag Report post Posted December 12, 2007 That buck looks awesome. 2 or 3 years ago I saw a 4x4 mulie in the mid 150s that was off white not totaly albino, I would love to get an arrow in him this fall. I have also seen a doe mule deer that had huge spots looked like a antelope. Nothing black other than bears and slow moving elk .
