Rebarreling a Tikka T3 Lite

Recommended Posts

I have a lefty .270 T3 Lite that has been my primary Coues rig since 2012. Bought it new in 2008.

I have another .270 and as venerable as the caliber is I really do not need two. I'm thinking a 6.5x284 would meet my Coues needs...anyone on here have experience with putting a new barrel on a T3? I'm in Tucson but have no problem working with a PHX gunsmith if anyone can recommend someone versed in Tikkas.

Thanks for looking.

From what I understand the Tikkas have metric threads on them, and not a whole lot of gunsmith want to deal with them. I know a guy in the Tucson area that will. If you want his contact info, post up and say so, them I will PM you his info.

Tikkas are about as simple as it gets. I have built a few of them and all shoot great.

Thanks guys, a member on here contacted me and I'm going to work with them...converting my .270 to 6.5x284 with a Bartlein barrel and swapping the factory barrel on my .300WSM for a Shilen one.
