Big or Bust Report post Posted November 16, 2017 Returned last week from a 3rd season buck hunt in Colorado. Pretty sporty hunt as we always bailed off the mountain due to snow on day 1. My good buddy was stranded for 10 days in same camp 2 years ago before we were able to get him out of there. Long story short, the bucks were only moving at night, the full moon and wind made the first 4 days rough. Passed this guy up on morning of Day 5, then regretted it. Found him again and I shot him that evening. Pretty sporty packout as I started to suffer from severe dehydration and barely made it back to camp. I knew I was in trouble as getting on the ground to shot him, both calves and hamstrings seized at the same time. That was interesting. Very tough hunt this year. I feel fortunate to have had a crack at this guy. 505 yards, 168 VLD from a .280 Ackley. Buck goes 182"...

bonecollector777 Report post Posted November 25, 2017 Both calves and hamstrings? Just one hamstring cramping up about kills me. All four at once I may have been using the gun on myself. Sounds terrible. Sweet buck!
Big or Bust Report post Posted November 25, 2017 All 4... I thought I had missed my chance when I seized up as their was some writhing in the snow... But got it under control just before they fed across the small opening I had...
