ajohunter Report post Posted December 5, 2007 Ok everyone, as you will know from my other thread I was getting your input for my new bow. I have archery hunted for the last 16 years but input from others is always appreciated! I bought the Bowtech Diamond Black Ice. Now I am asking your opinions on sights and rests preferred by all of you. I guess you could say im trying to make a CWT.com edition bow from all the input!.... Thanks everyone! firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted December 5, 2007 I like have a black gold sight and it is nice. i prefer the .019 sights over the .029 by leaps and bounds!
steward224 Report post Posted December 5, 2007 If you like to spot and stalk then I would recommend a whisker biscuit rest or the pse drop away. I think they are the best. Have fun!!!
mikep35 Report post Posted December 5, 2007 I have a drop away that I absolutely love and it has a small rubberized bar that keeps the arrow from falling off when you turn it to the side. I also have a 4-pin Optix sight that I really like

azcouesandelk Report post Posted December 6, 2007 Spott-Hog sights and Trophy Taker rest Ditto to what elmergoo said. For the trophy taker they have new rest out that you do not need to worry about. Here is a link for that rest http://www.trophytaker.com/arrow_rests.asp...type=arrow_rest My dad just picked up his first bow a few months ago and got the black ice also along with a trophy taker pronghorn and the spott hogg wrapped 5 pin. I highly recomend the spott hog wrapped sites since they are so easy to adjust and are really bright.
CouesSlayer Report post Posted December 6, 2007 Rest-Trophy Taker Shakey Hunter Sight- Cobra Sure Loc Sidewinder 5 pin .019 is the only way to go, personally I believe spot hogg is overrated. Quiver-Trophy Ridge I also used the whisker biscuit and I liked it as a beginners rest, but it can not match a drop away for accuracy and consistancy. I'm just dissapointed that you didn't get a Mathews Catch me if you can!!!!! Have fun and happy hunting!!!!
mattobertin Report post Posted December 6, 2007 I shoot the wisker biscuit and love it!
Red Rabbit Report post Posted December 6, 2007 Regarding the sights with wrapped fibers, you might find that with closely spaced pins of a fast bow that they will glow so brightly in direct sunlight that the glow/halo will obscure the target. Also, I have found that as light dims at dusk, I cannot see the target before I cannot see the pins when looking through my peep. Ask to look at some wrapped-fiber pins in direct sunlight, not in the store light, for your own decision.

youngbuck Report post Posted December 6, 2007 i shoot a 7 deadly pins with a ripcord rest. I think a few companies make rests like that now, just another one to look at
grizzly Report post Posted December 6, 2007 Ripcord is the best rest by far out there, I have put it on my last 4 bows and probably will on my next four. As for the sights I have the Spott hogg seven deadly pins on one of my bows and am not that impressed with it for all of the money it cost. I like my Toxonics alot, also the Dusk Devil 2 by Montana Black Gold. If you decide you want the Spott hogg Pm me and I will hook you up with mine cheap.
