youngbuck Report post Posted December 4, 2007 I found these 2 last weekend about 200 yards apart. They might be a set but i doubt it. The left side is pretty chewed and has alot shorter main. It may have been longer, it was too chewed up to tell. I like the blade on it though this is the right side. It was hardly chewed on at all, a little sunbleached, but my biggest find so far. jonscaife Report post Posted December 5, 2007 looks like a find from the same buck, but maybe a year between? great find. (i'm jealous)
couesdoggy Report post Posted December 5, 2007 If you look at the base of the antlers, where they were attached to the skull, and the bumb and valleys are mirror images of each other, then they are from the same deer provided there is not an injury to the pedicle. If they are not mirror images, then they are from different deer. A buck will keep this charactoristic year after year, so you can tell if you are finding the same buck's sheds year after year by looking at the attachement site. It is almost like a fingerprint.
