IA Born Report post Posted November 2, 2017 I know I posted a long story last April about the turkey hunt my daughter won through NWTF, but a couple of months ago, I was approached by our regional office to write a story about a turkey hunt that happened a few years ago. Our agency, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, is very much pro hunting and fishing and is on a big mission to promote that heritage, so I was approached to tell a story. The conversation lead to an even better story, the one about my daughter's turkey hunt. It was difficult for me to tell the story in 500 words or less; I have too much bias with my pride in the story and the hunt. The person I was working with in our External Affairs office does this kind of writing and edited it down for size and style. I don't like bragging about my accomplishments, but I do like bragging about my kids' accomplishments, and I still love this turkey hunt as my favorite one ever! The story was recently published online on our FWS homepage and in the online journal The Outdoor Wire. https://www.fws.gov/…/…/Turkey-Hunting-and-the-Psalm-of-Life http://www.theoutdoorwire.com/features/232137
