stanley Report post Posted October 26, 2017 Heading to the airport in about an hour to pick-up one of my oldest friends. All loaded-up!! Will pick him up and drive directly South to one of the border units. Cots under the stars tonight, with a 4AM wake-up tomorrow to hike the three miles in the dark to our glassing spot. Glass glass the morning, then spend tomorrow setting-up a proper camp for the next 5 days. There will be several good friends, plus my son in camp. I have that feeling like it's Christmas Eve! After three years of chasing my daughter on all of her elk, deer, and javelina hunts, its strange to be done so early since she only had an elk tag. Friends keep asking me when my next hunt is and I get sad....until I remember that I'll be taking my son on his first big game hunt in January! Good luck to everyone tomorrow! 218 Buck, 20A may have burned in the fire, but I've been in some of the areas and the regrowth is good.
