Red Sparky Report post Posted October 25, 2017 Go look at any new car lot, atv or quad lot, boat lot and see there is a "transportation fee". You get to pay the fee to get it to the dealers lot so you could buy it. Especially when they get 4-5 cars on one semi load and then want to charge you about $1800 transportation for the car. I got my CJ transported from my sisters in Austin to Albuquerque, in a covered car hauler, for $600. So the hazmat fee is not charged by the shipper but by the carrier they use. Even if you are getting "free shipping" you are paying for it somehow. I have no problem if I am buying something online to pay for shipping. I usually order early so I don't need it right now and pay the cheapest shipping I can. Got some things coming from China so it will be three to four weeks to get here, but hey, I am getting "free shipping".
PRDATR Report post Posted October 26, 2017 Midway was free shipping in the early days. Now you either pay tax locally and gas to get there or pay shipping. No free lunch.
